Psych Visit and Humanity Healing

If I couldn't laugh, I'd have to cry.  If I do, and it is perceived as disproportionate to my life experiences, I would then be labeled with a mental illness.

Hi, Becky,
You have a terrific site! It is great to see you have picked up my new SSRI study from Bob Fiddaman's site. You might also like to know that I healed our son's schizophrenia with high-frequency sound, i.e., the violin music of Mozart and other classical composers. Then, when he became psychotic again I realized I had to find out how and why that had worked before. While I was doing the research, music was healing him again. As I was writing about that recovery process, I discovered the key to human behaviour, not just mental illness, lies in the right ear, which acts like a "microchip" for the left hemisphere of the brain. The left hemisphere is the "control panel" for the body as rational language, normal beliefs, and the capacity for learning self-control all reside in the language networks there. Music reactivates a damaged muscle in the (usually right) inner ear so that it can transmit enough sound energy to the left brain to keep it dominant. My book Listening for the Light explains the neurology and behavioural science of this new paradigm of human behaviour. I have also written a monograph Hemispheric Integration and the Ears for busy professionals that skims the neurological and behavioural science from the longer story of the book. It contains about 60 pages of full-colour illustrations of Daniel's art while his brain was re-integrating from schizophrenia under the influence of music. My SSRI study shows the role of the ear in the symptoms of "discontinuation syndrome." It looks like music could greatly reduce those symptoms, too, and maybe even heal the underlying symptoms for which they were prescribed.
