I have to say that I agree with the above statement...I particularly appreciated the information on how many professional journal articles are published in a year---far too many for a doctor to possibly keep up with!  It is for this reason, that the FDA must serve the purpose intended: to protect the American people from dangerous drugs and unscrupulous prescribing practices; and fulfill this mission with integrity.  The FDA works for the American People, not the pharmaceutical industry; even if the pharmceutical industry contributes a significant portion of it's budget!
