I have over the last several weeks asked my son what he wants for Christmas---he has not come up with anything. He seldom wants anything. The last thing he wanted was a cat, and that was several months ago. So, he has a tabby he named Lil Belle. Yesterday, I asked him once more. "Isaac, is there anything you want for Christmas?" He thought for about 10 seconds and answered, "I'd like some cards so I can play cards with you Mom."
We have cards--several decks including a deck of cards from Washington D.C. that I bought in a souvenir shop when I went to the Capital in 2009 and gave him for Christmas; I have probably asked him at least a hundred times since then, if he would like to play cards.
I'm just grateful he wants anything at all---it's a bonus that he wants to play cards with Mom...
It is the small things that are the big things.
It is a perfect gift for Mom.
